Hi

We are using ACCPAC 6.0 , can we make shipment for an order from two different locations, while shipments it doesn't allow to change the location....

Zab

Edit the order, change the location, set quantity shipped and post.

Once the partial shipment is done the location and some other fields are not editable.

Add a new line on the order for the same item but use the new location. Edit the original line and reduce the qty on B/O by the qty shipped on the new line.

so we have to repeat this for each time we add a new line, it will be difficult to keep track if we need to continue this process.

Our scenario is like this we are recording an order ie for 100 meters of readymix concrete, this is recorded in 1 location.
we have four plants and depending upon the availability of delivery trucks the shipment can be from any plant (location)
We don't deliver full order we deliver in bathes ( 8 meters per batch) so first delivery can be from plant 1, second can be from plant 2 and third again from plant 1 and fourth delivery from plant 4.

This way the operation has to change the B/O after each delivery and errors are bound to happen.

Still will give it a try.

Thank you so much.

Zab

I've done something similar for a client. Orders are placed against a dummy location but not shipped from there.
I wrote a macro that does the shipment, it adds a line for the location and reduces the B/O qty by the quantity shipped.

Thanks...

we did the same but the problem comes when we have to do some analysis for BI, as the values in the BO field change.

Thanks again.
