I'm really a bonehead when it comes to excel, but I was wondering if there is an easy way to apply a decimal point shift over a large selection of cells.

All of my data has been entered in "millions" and I now find out that "they" need it to be in "billions". Is there a quick way I can shift the decimal point over?

Enter 1000 in a blank cell. With cell with 1000 in it highlighted, go to Edit, Copy.

Highlight the range you want to convert and go to Edit, Paste Special, Multiple, OK.

Make a new column and populate each cell with 1000. Then copy your numbers and paste special and check multiply.

Hmmm. B-M: The ultimate nested function. Note the colon.
