Hi All
Using xl97(sr2) on NT4(sp6) I'm trying to enter text onto 2 (or more) lines in one cell.

Normally SHIFT+ENTER does the job but it isn't working here! I end up just moving to the cell above!!!

Anyone ever seen this "feature" before or am I just luck?

Take a look at the [options]menu..[Edit] tab is the box next to the 'move selection after enter' set to UP?

if so change to Down or what ever.

erm

ALT+ENTER creates a new line in the same cell - SHIFT+ENTER has always worked like that AFAIK

Hi Loomah,

Damned confusing, all the shortcut keys in different Office apps, but SHIFT+ENTER in built into Excel (97 to 2003 certainly) and moves in the opposite direction to ENTER alone (which is set under Tools > Options > Edit tab). What you want is ALT+ENTER.

Enjoy,
Tony

Hey Loomah,

You look "tan" but not rested. What did you do on your "vacation?" ;-)
