Shell with VBA code

Is it possible to capture items in an email and using vba code use those captured items in a program. If so how do you do this?

Could you be a bit more specific? Do you want to open an email from Access? What format is the email? Where is the information, in the body, subject, attachment? Kathryn

I want to use MS Access to open either an email in outlook express or Lotus Notes with an MS Access application written in VBA code. I want to extract all information from the email and write it to a table, that can then be called up in a form that will show what contact had been made with that client. I know how to call up outlook express from MS access, but I don't know how to get the information out of the email. The information could be in the body, subject or attachment. Any information I can retrieve from the email I would want to store in a table.

Sorry, I know how to create a new email from Outlook, but apparently you need to open an email from the Inbox, and that I don't know how to do. Have you checked the MS KnowledgeBase support.microsoft.com?? Kathryn

Just a thought - can you link in OUtlook Express into Access like you can Outlook?
