shell script - CPU info 1

Hi

I need help in the shell script, how do we parse the number. FOr example uname -m = 00250215C400, i want to get only C4 out of "00250215C400" what arguments i need to give to get that.

Any one has a script to find out the machine model,CPU speed and architecture.

We have all many kinds of IBM hardware so i am planning to write a script to get all their system info.

This is the best system info script I have ever seen. It will get all your sys info including, SAN, NAS, whatever and post it to an html file.
