My HD cleaner (UltraWinCleaner 2000) wants to delete shdocvw.bak as "not needed." This is a backup file that was created Jan 2001 (on the day of my Win98 installation) in folder Windows\System, size: 2.09 Mb. The only other shdocvw is a dll file, created June 2000, also in Windows\System, size: 1.09 Mb. (I'm running Windows 98, SE, I think, on a ThinkPad 1412.) Is is OK to delete this backup file? Why is it so much larger than the .dll file?

Thanx! Ben

Not real sure but if it's only 2MB I'd leave it alone. It may be a backup file created by the Win98 Restore feature. Every day above ground is a GOOD DAY!!!
