I recently installed IE 6 on my Win98 box. It began crashing frequently, to the point where i am unable to download files, and i never get error 404s anymore. instead, i get MS error reporting and have to restart IE. I have recetly upgraded to WinXP but continue to experience this problem in IE6. The error report always points to shdocvw.dll as the culprit! can anybody please tell me what i might be experiencing and how i may go about repairing? -TJ

Running WinXP, T-Bird 1.3GHz, 128MB DDR RAM, 48GB HD

I don't know if IE6 is the same, but the IE repair tool is always a good place to start. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and select the IE entry. Click on the add/remove button and select repair, hopefully after rebooting the problems won't repeat.
