I'm trying to share a vpn connection over the local network. the vpn is set up with win2k and is connecting two local networks. In network A is the server and they have ip's: 192.168.0.x. In network B is where I'm trying to share the VPN connection over the local network. There is an option for this in the win2k vpn properties, but when use it it automatically sets the ip on the client where the vpn is connected to ip: 192.168.0.1 (normally the ip is 192.168.1.1). Once the ip is set to 192.168.0.1 the vpn can log on but i can't browse the other network anymore. If I don't choose to share the vpn connection and set my ip back to 192.168.1.1 everything is working fine again. But do need to share drives from network A with all clients in network B!

is there a solution to not let win2k automatically change the ip but still share vpn connection? can the same ip address in both networks on each side of the vpn cause this browsing problem?

thanks a lot for your help!!!

Hi,

I am not sure if this will help your situation. But by unchecking the, use default gateway on remote network under TCP/IP settings of the VPN connection, helps in removing the VPN interference with normal browsing functions of the workstation on the network.

Hope this helps,

Gary....:)
