Before upgrading my workstations to Win2k I I copied various folders from the hard drives to the server. I created a folder named CDrive in each of the users' home folder. In that folder I copied the files and folders which I would later copy back to the upgraded workstations (Favorites, Cookies and other personal folders and files). After the upgrade, I no longer need the backed up folders and files so I attempted to delete them.

Here is the problem. When I attempt to delete the folders I am getting a message that the folder may be in use. I have attempted to delete them as Administrator and also as the user. I seem to be able to delete the files but not the folders. The permissions for the folders are set to full rights for Administrators and the users. THe ownership of the folder is Administrators.

Any ideas as to why I am getting a sharing message when trying to delete the folders and how I can accomplish my task?

Thanks!

I had a problem doing a similar thing. I got lots of excellent tips on this forum. Look for the thread called "Problems deleting a folder named same as a share".

Hopefully your solution will be found there.
