This may not be the right place to ask. But I am confused and need help. I have three computers in the house. They are in separate rooms. I have broadband Internet. I ran cat5 cables. I bought a Belkin router and have all three computers on the Internet. It is working great. Here is my question though.

1. My son and I want to play Ghost recon between each other. Him in his room and I in the office. We do not want to go online. Can we play by connecting our computers together like a LAN? If so, how do we do it??

I have read threads about networking and have gone to but still confused. Is this only for sharing Internet connection?? We already share the Interent connection. I want to be able to not go online and be able to play games against my son. Thank you.

You already have your computers set up on a LAN. You most likely just need to know what IP address each computer is on. To check this goto the command prompt(Start > Run, then type command and hit enter). At DOS prompt, type ipconfig (or winipcfg if Win98) on each computer and make a note of it. I am not familiar with Ghost recon, but most likely there is some sort of remote host information that you would need. You should be able to enter the IP address of the other PC as the remote host.

Thank you. You were right, they were already connected. I did check the IP address and made sure they were the same. Ghost Recon is a game similar to HALO and Soldier of Fortune. Cool game.
