hi i have a table in paradox and 2 projects. What i want to do is when i post one record in one application, the other on afterpost event does something(sharing the same table).I have code in afterpost on the second application but does not trig. Thanks

AFAIK, the only way to do that is to use a timer in the second application and periodically query the database to see if there have been any changes.

Alternatively, if the two applications are on the same machine, you could use Windows messaging. (Either roll your own or use DDE.)

BTW, AfterPost won't do what you want because it only triggers when the local dataset posts - not when a remote dataset posts.

yes,i already have notice that, but does exist any component to do the linkage between these 2 applications or i have to use the timer like zathras posted.

You could send a windows message from one app to the other, if they are on the same machine. (See PostMessage funtion)
