Do I have this concept right?
I can access a "hidden share" - which is one denoted by a "$" by typing the \\computername\sharename convention.
as in the following example - \\yourcomputer\admin$ will usually get me to the c:\windows\winnt (on NT)
or c:\windows (on 9x) - correct?
Likewise \\yourcomputer\c$ ought to get me to the c:\ directory on yourcomputer as long as it's shared, right?
Sometimes this works between pcs on my network, and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, I usually get prompted with a box saying
"incorrect password or username for \\yourcomputer\c$" with two fields prompting me for "connect as" and "password"
no matter what I put into these two boxes, it never lets me connect to the the share this way.
My question is how can I make sure the \\computername\c$ is enabled in order to be accessed by other machines on the network?
