Sometime ago I posed a question regarding sharing my outlook express mail with both Win98 and WinXP. I was told that it couldn't be done. Well that is not quite true! In all fiarness, the advice was true as they interpeted that I wanted to use the same program in either OS...which you can't! What I really meant was that I wanted to access the same mail folders, send/recieve and effect changes that both programs would easily recognise.

Happily, I was able to do it easily by moving my stored folder in the win98 setup (as this was the original program that had all my mail) using the "tools/options" to a new partition (this part was probably not necessary but it works better when backing up and restoring with "Nortons Ghost" (great program)). Then I exported my settings: mail accounts and address book. When I setup the dual boot with WinXP I simply told outlook express to use my new moved mail folders and imported the settings...piece of cake! All I need to do now is figure out how to export the blocked senders list (probably using copy and create a new txt file with the info then open and copy this when I boot into WinXP!?).

Both programs are still seperate in that if I add a user, rule, blocked sender, etc. I have to repeat the same procedure in the other OS but I'm able to read, send, move and delete in either program which is recognised by the other OS.

Hopefully if anyone else has a similar setup or problem this will help!

Regards
