I have set up a new view in a project plan (2003) and have worked out how to add it to another plans using organiser, however my issue is that when other users of the plan download it from SharePoint they can't see the new view on their list of view options. I believe I am doing something wrong with the global.mpt bit in organiser. If someone could tell me what I am doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated!!

Just so I am clear: you've created a Project file with a saved custom view. You've stored that file on a SharePoint file share and when users download the file from SharePoint, they don't have the view? Custom views are stored in the project file itself - your global.mpt file does not come into play here.

You use the organized to copy the custom view and view components (fields, tables, view) from a specific project file to your global.mpt file. By copying the view to your global, it is available to all other projects you open on your machine.

Tell me a bit more about what you've done and we'll try to sort it.

Hi
Thanks for replying so quickly.
I set-up a saved custom view in a plan. Then as you rightly said, I used organiser to copy the view, field etc to another plan. I successfully did this and was able to view the new view on the plan. I then uploaded the plan to share point and told people to download the plan and select this new custom view. However after they had downloaded the plan, they said the new custom view option I had set-up wasn't available on their list of views. Just for info as well this was on 2003.
Hope that makes it clearer and many thanks again for you help!

Chris

Thanks for the additional information, Chris. If you download the file from SharePoint do you see the view? Is the view visible through View > More Views dialog list? Is it possible you uploaded an older version of the file?
