computer A has local printer. Both computers A and B are connected to local area network via ethernet, Novell netware service. Both computers are Windows 98.
How can I "share" computer A's local printer with computer B while maintaining the Novell netware service?
When I try to add a familiar service, like Client for Microsoft networks (i.e. - for peer-to-peer) i get message saying that can't have this service with Novell netware.
This is critical since the printer at computer A does not have an ethernet hookup that would have been able to identify it to the network....
Is it possible too do this sharing of the printer?
PLEASE....if I can solve this prob I will be a hero(ine) at work...Thanks........KAARA L. [sig][/sig]

From computer A, ensure under network properties-->Add-->Service-->"File and Print Sharing for Netware Networks" has been selected. It will ask for a reboot (of course) and you should be all set, simply share the printer from computer A.

Hope this helps ~ [sig][/sig]

If the above does not work...or if you prefer:
Novell Share
In Pconsole...and the local printer as a REMOTE printer.
From the local PC you can run nprinter. Or on the Novell
web site there is a Windows version of this.

Windows Share
OR -- on all the PCs that need to share the printer.
In Windows Network Neighborhood make sure the Workgroup name
is identical (under the Identification tab). Add Windows Logon (not client for Windows Networks -- which can run with Novell) and click on file and printer sharing for the PC that has the shared printer.

Reboot...Right click on the printer and add the share.

The local PC = lpt1:
The other PCs = \\workgroup name\printer share name [sig][/sig]
