Hi everybody,
ok, I have a couple friends who need to share their internet conection at home. Now this is a very easy task, but there's a problem. The pc with the cable modem is a windows millenium pc and the other machine is a mac. im sure it can be done, probably easily too. but i have no idea how. could anyone help me out here?
i havent tried out anything yet, so any suggestions would help. do i only need to set the mac's Default Gateway to the pc's IP? will i need special software?

thanks

I have only managed to do this with a Windows 2000 server. Not sure you can do this with Millenium windows. If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Place a hub or router between the cable modem and the PC. Connect the Mac to the router/hub.

Another option is to connect the Mac to the PC (through a hub or a second network card). Then run a proxy server on the PC (Get Proxy (free) from analogx.com)
