We are using Lotus Notes 5.11 and are trying to setup a program to work with it without prompting for the password for the id file when sending an email. (The application is qpulse). We are running Qpulse and Notes out of Citrix. I have ticked the "Don't prompt for password from other Notes based programs" checkmark under the options for the User ID

What else can I do to get notes to work without prompting for this ID. While I am at it, can I remove the need to prompt for a notes password at all? I believe we have looked at tools before for thsi but to no avail.

Thanks

Hi,

The only two ways I am aware of to avoid a password prompt is to use an ID without password or to use the "Single logon" feature of Notes that will use the OS logon.

The "dont prompt" option will only work for other Notes based programs, not for third party software.

If the user already started his Lotus Notes and performed the login then you should not get a prompt again.

I do not know the Qpulse program and what you try to do, but maybe you can sent the e-mail from Qpulse using SMTP to the Domino server directly instead of using a Notes client. Using POP3 the Qpulse program should also be able to retrieve e-mail from the Domino server. But I do not know if that program will allow this kind of configuration.

Kind regards,

Thanks; the blank password was just the idea I needed; needless to see its not a solution I would brag about, but it works...
