I set up a wireless system in my home a couple of weeks ago and cannot get my laptop and desktop to talk to each other. I have a cable modem connected to the wireless router. The files on the desktop are shared and all of the settings seem to be correct (file and print sharing is activated). The laptop can use the internet. If I connect the laptop to the router via a cat 5 cable, it will see the desktop machine. However, I cannot get it to see the shares if I use it wirelessly.

Desktop: Windows 2000 pro (service pack 4)
Laptop: Windows XP Pro (service pack 2)
Router: Linksys WRT54G, version 2

I have set both machines to the same workgroup but still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
