Hi all,

I'm new to IPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 and would like to know if there is a way to share a domain name with another messaging server? For example, my company consists of one Exchange 2000 server and one IPlanet Messaging Server 5.1, and i want users of both systems to share the domain name of @mycompany.com.

I've tried to configure this, but can't get IPlanet to forward any mail addressed to @mycompany.com, that it can't resolve internally, to the Exchange 2000 server. I think this is because IPlanet is treating all mail addressed to @mycompany.com as internal, and is therefore refusing to forward it on.

Can anyone please help?

Ian

Create entries for all the people in your domain in the directory server.

Give them mailhost attribute that are the dns lookupable entries of the MS Exchange server. It shoudl automatically forward the messages to the correct host.
