I've been using a peer-to-peer LAN with about 20 Win98 computers for years. One of the computers has data that is accessed by all the other computers. When I changed this computer to WinXP it no longer provided all computers access. How do I get past the limit (10?) that seems to be a part of XP?

It is 10 at one time, others will gain access as users finish their access. You could upgrade to a Server Operating System.

Perhaps this from the links provided is worth checking?

"XP Pro allows 10 connections. This limit is installed by default in the metabase key MaxConnections for W3SVC, and there is no user interface method for modifying the setting. You can change this setting to any number less than 40 and it works, but that is not widely advertised."
