Hello all,

I have a T1 line at my home location
My friends business is about 1 mile away.

I would like to share my t1 line with them, is the best way to use frame relay?

What are the equipments needed?
Would I need to install a new line at the business location? if so does that mean I would have to contact my ISP provider or will I need to contact the telephone company directly?
Is there an alternate solutions in sharing my connection?
Finally how much would this whole project cost, would it be better if he gets his own individual line?

Please let me know if its possible and where do i start

Thank you and have a great day

It would be best for him to get his own connection. Some how he must get to you to get to the T1. And depending on what he has to get too you will determine his speed on that T1.

Depending on your are the cost of the line and hardware.

I have a home office and co-office about 2 miles away. Im in the same Bell South lata. I have a point to point line I pay $250 month for. Telco sets up the end points at the demarc, etc. You will then need T-1 routers - That will be your biggest cost. Frame relay would be more expensive. In the long run I agree that he is better off getting his own T-1 or fractional T-1
