Greetings all,

When I first got version 9, I made copies of my bases classes and moved them to my version 9 folders. I have clients who use version 8 of VFP, but I am doing more with version 9 all the time.

I'd like to go back to using one set of VCX files for my projects, but I haven't been able to locate any info on whether compiling them in both VFP 8 and 9 will cause any problems.

Anybody have any insight on this?

Thanks much,
msc

When you open VCX and made some changes to it with VFP9 it sometimes add MemberData property. If that happens you can't open or build that VCX in VFP8. If no such property added no problem to use VCX in both versions. You could easyly create a routine which scan all of your Class libraries and if it finds this property just delete it. (BUT GOOD BACKUP is mandatory)

Borislav,

I was concerned that there might be potential problems, thank you for your input.

For now, I will continue to maintain the separate VCX files.

Thanks again,
matt
