the best thing for you to do is find out what routers are compatible with that modem and service. like you, i've heard alot of do's and don'ts useing AOL broadband. for the most part its because of thier proxy crap. if a router is able to work with that service all you would need to do is follow the directions and that should be it. most people have the problems when trying to do it before finding out if the router is compatible with the modem and service. if it was ANY ISP besides AOL i'd say get a router and "plug and play". good luck.
