I've got a network set up where I have something like this:

[DESKTOP]
/
[CABLE]
/
[INTERNET] - [ROUTER]
\
[802.11g]
\
[LAPTOP]

(Hope that comes out alright)

Basically, to save myself messing about with DVDs, is it possible to, using that network, make all the desktop PC available to the laptop so I can take old files off it, or at least make some folders available to save having to put files on DVDs

Any help is greatly apprechiated :)

What operating systems are on the Desktop and Laptop?

XP Home for the desktop and XP Pro for the laptop

Yes, you can share your desktop hard drive. I would not share everything, I would just share select areas. Just go to the folder that you want to share through my computer on the desktop, right click and choose sharing. You may also have to alter your Firewall to allow your laptop access. There should be no need to share the entire drive and why take the risk.
