Hello all;
This question may not suitbale for this forum, but wondering if anyone out there knows the answer.
I have a db that I will share with other users. More than one users will be expected to open the db, view data (through a form), and maybe add/modify data from the same table.
Is this do-able? If so, is there any pointers I need to setup or pay attention so whatever my users do on this db will not mess up the data?
Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks.

is this do-able? that's exactly what Access is for. yours is a huge question with an entire forum full of answers...

1) you will want to make a Front End and Back End (look up SPLITTING A DATABASE).
2) you will want to set appropriate RECORD LOCKING to prevent multiple users from editing the same record at the same time, which causes data corruption.
3) Read about SECURITY
4) take a class, buy a text book (GETZ), have fun....

Have you tried linking the tables?

Store the master copy of the Db on the server, and install an instance of the Db on each of the client machines.

Then link all of the clients to the server via File | Get External Data | Link Tables.

Any changes to the client tables will be reflected on the server and vice versa.
