I'm sure there is a very simple solution to my problem.

I have a VB project located on a network drive that I want to be able to access from more than one machine(my office and my home PC). I can have all the files checked in (from my office machine), but when I try to access the project from my home machine, I get an error message from Sourcesafe (something about being unable to access the project).

Is there a specific Sourcesafe file I need to have on the network drive in order to be able to have access to my project ?

Could be you are blocking yourself. Usually, the 'network' project is in the shawdow folder and everybody uses a local working folder (on the harddisk or so). See also thread722-330886

Best regards

So if I understand this correctly, each machine should have a local VB project tied to the SourceSafe files that are on the network drive.

Yes. Suppose your colleague started a project and you want to start working on the same project as well. Then log into sourcesafe, choose SourceSafe > Get latest version from the menu and give a path to a local directory. The files are then copied from sourcesafe and you can start to work on the files as well.

Best regards
