We have just bought a Freecom FS-50 DVD+/-RW Drive and were wondering if we can share it over our internal network? We'd be using it for backups, and would be using remote desktop from the system that the dvd drive is connected to, if this offers a possible method

cheers!

You should be able to do this by going to the properties of the drive & selecting sharing. When I looked on my system, I was told to drag the folder to the sharde documents folder.
Hope this works for you.

yes, how strange. It seems i had to restart before it listed the sharing tab in the properties.

Cheers! Sorted
