I disagree. there was an app that was supplied with hp scanners that allowed you to setup the scanner on one machine and access it from any other machine on a network. you then have to set up the client software on the other pc. I can't remember the specifics but I shared a usb camera and printer from my pc and a friend visiting got them setup on his pc.
Yes, all the networkable scanners can be networked. But as I said, they're few and far between. The only HP models that can be networked are the Network Scanjet Series (and it's very unlikely to find one of these on a 2 computer network).
Not even the hp's designed for it always work, or continue to work.
HP needs to get a grip on its usb issues.
BUT...I have spied some software somewhere that is supposed to be able to network any scanner......<cough> But I wouldnt buy any stock in the company.
