A database I have is linked to an Excel file that contains data pulled and saved from another source each day. This data is uploaded and appended to an Access table. For some reason, each time they overwrite the excel file it takes out the Share Workbook link which inturn causes the database to be restricted to one user to lock on to the appended table. Is there code that can fix that automatically so that the excel file is only linked as a shared file so to keep the database in a multiuser environment?

Hi

Instead of doing this via a linked "table" which is an Excel file, why not use DOCmd.TransferSpreadsheet to import the spreadsheet into an access table, then do whatever it is you want to do with it.
