Hi All,

Hopefully someone has already tackled before:

Is there a way to set up a DFS share so that folders which users don't have permissions to are hidden from them? Or is there a way to do this without DFS?

I have a network of approx 200 users and i would like them to connect to just the one network drive (mapped in the logon script) when they join the domain. But.....I would only like this drive to display the folders which they have permissions to

If anyone can help me out with this or point me in the right direction then it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers,
Steve

Unfortunately, NT & 2000 do not have the capability of hiding files & folders via permissions, like you can in Novell. But proper permissions settings will prevent access by unauthorized users. NTFS permissions aren't as weak as 9x share-level permissions.
