I recently set up a sharepoint 3 site using win 2003 server. I want people to access it from the internet. IF they type the address they are prompted for username and password they get the site cannot be found message. They have to add /default.aspx to get the site to work.

Can anyone help.

Thanks,

Andrew Sanders

Set in IIS to load the default.aspx file first.

Hi Thanks for the tip. I rememeber this now, but I right clicked the sharepoint site and went to properties. I went to documents and added default.aspx as the default content page and movbed it to the top, but still no luck.

Weird,

I didn't even have to set that on mine when I used the most recent version of Sharepoint v3 downloaded from Microsoft. Make sure you got all the critical updates done on your server.
