SharePoint "Companyweb" problems???

I recently inherited a Server with SharePoint already installed. The default “Companyweb” page that was created comes up with “The page cannot be displayed” error. I don’t know if it ever worked. The Administration and Central Administration pages work normally. I’m new to SharePoint and don’t know where to start. Is there anyone with a suggestions on where to start with this problem?
