Hello,
I am trying to budget for a sharepoint environment set up in a server farm with 4 server and sql cluster back end. I know there is a standard licensing fee for Sharepoint - will I have to purchase a license for each server in the farm, or just one for the whole farm?

Thanks for any input

It really depends what version of SharePoint.

If you are going to deploy Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) across a farm, then you are only liable for any Windows 2003 user CALs.

If you are going to deploy Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), you will need a server license for each MOSS server in the farm, and SharePoint User CALs for all users (both Standard and Enterprise CAL's if you are going MOSS Enterprise)

thanks...I am going to deploy MOSS, so I will 4 licenses. I already have the CALs taken care of.
