Can someone enlighten me to how this is supposed to work? I have many documents in my library but clicking the keyword filter never gets me any results. I can type a word I know is in many of my documents inthe keyword filter search box and I always get the same result:

"There are no items matching the specified keyword filter...."

I can not find any documentation about how this works are how to assign keyword filters to documents.

Hi,

I assume you are using SharePoint Portal Server 2003? It might be so that you have to define your Keywords for your documents. I know that the search mechanism in SPS 2003 is not the best one and I am not even sure it will actually search inside your documents for keywords. Atleast it will not do that if you have added those keywords (metadat) in the document properties, as you can do in word for example.

However the search in SharePoint Server 2007, is doing this out of the box and it is 100 times better, so look into upgrading to that.

Cheers,
Thomas
