sharepoint installation problem

It's not installing WMSDE when I try to install Sharepoint Service 2.0 sp2.

It would install Sharepoint and the Creation Application Pool Account interface would come up. When this comes up it means it's trying to ask me to connect to a SQL server.

Isn't WMSDE suppose to silently install?when I double click stsv2.exe

If you take all defaults it will. There's an option where it asks you to install default or use a server farm. If you choose Server Farm then it won't install for you. Also make sure that it hasn't been installed before. If it has then you'll get errors.
