Is there a way to have SharePoint allow logon using just the username (like you can with OWA) rather than the domain\username format mainly so that the users will be able to enter the same thing for both SharePoint and OWA?
If you are in a domain why not use intergrated autentication... Then your users wont have to login because it takes the same account as the windows account.. You must place the SharePoint site in the trusted sites of IE for this to work.
What about for external use? We have people outside of our organization that have domain accounts created solely for use within sharepoint, but not email address. When they go to login, though they'll have to use the format of domain\username or username@domain.com. The latter can be misleading to them since we told them that they don't have an email address. Is there a way to set it up to allow just the username to log them into sharepoint just as it does with outlook web access?
