Hello
I would like to know if it is possible to directly integrate SharePoint 2010 with OpenText Archive Server 9.7.1 (best case: without Livelink ECM Contentserver)
Our customer does not want to migrate Content from OpenText to SharePoint, they want to use Archive Server as an archive and SharePoint for collaboration.

Main requested features:
· Manual archiving (click on “send to”) of Office documents
· Rule based automated archiving of single documents/libraries/folders
· Internal Links should work after moving to archive (even SharePoint SiteCollection is deleted)
· Rule based deletion of documents incl their metadata
· Data Format: PDF/A, not just a copy
· Move large files or whole SiteCollections to a different (low cost) hard disk

thanks!

This way of using archive server was available at one time
but the majority of rules that I have personally done were done using livelink in the mix
It would make sense for you to talk to a sales person at OT to see if they support this
architecture now.technically Archive Server has an api, that you an use with the newer versions they have exposed a java based
api as well. This is what one hears as (Runtime&core Services+archive Webservices api)
All the bells and whistles are basically now controlled by livelink in the mix at least that is what I think.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

hi appnair
just got the confirmation: this solution is not Longer supported by OpenText because it uses PDMS Context Server (from IXOS) and not ECM Content Server.

I am very curious to hear from you which Archiving Integration Solutions you used when working with Content Server together with SharePoint. opentext AGA? AveDoc from AvePoint? SeeUnity?

OpenText AGA is what I have put in or two customer places although that info is about 3 yrs old.
The old architecture is very simple

SP
You load OT software called CLM
CLM is a high level package that uses lapi binaries on livelink
SP is configured to talk to the livelink lapi port
If livelink uses archive server provider you setup rules for any special archiving needs

Newer architecture my thought I have no way to prove that

SP Talks to RunTime&CoreServices
It is a java webapp that you can deploy Enterprise Library Services and Archive webservices and in fact any java based code
The RCS acts as the middle man for any requests between SP and LL
I beleive the architecture is needed because lapi client side is a 32 bit thing which won't run in true 64 bit computers and mostly you are talking true
soap based things between the servers involved.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
