I have been using workbook sharing for over a year with no issues. All of a sudden I'm getting this error.

"Excel was unable to save the workbook because there was a problem reading or applying part of the revision history....."

Any ideas on how to fix this?

What version of Excel?

If it's 2007, it could be related to this article:

Migration path: If users will be editing a shared workbook in Office Excel 2007 and a previous version of Excel, keep the workbook in the Biff8 file (XLS) format. Changing the file format to the new BIFF12 (XLSB) or XML12 (XLSX) formats will discard the revision history.

It has been a 2007 sheet from the start.

Well, then that doesn't help any, does it?
Hmm...

My best guess is that something is/went ary with the network settings. Since it's a shared workbook, I'm assuming it's shared over a network.

Is there any way to verify nothing is causing network issues?

Nothing I can think of. It happens to all the users but not consistently. One day one person then another day another person. But it happens to someone everyday. And it only effects that person. Someone else can open and save without issue.

For the error person to save they have to get everyone else out of the book, stop sharing, save, reshare the book.

What a pain.

Hmm, what about a user limit in MS Excel for record locks? Could it at all be related to that? I know MS has certain user limits on practically every thing.
