Is it possible to use the same number variable to calculate a total at several group levels?

I have several shared variables in subreports which are displayed on the main report. The problem is that this variable needs to be reset to zero at three different group levels i.e. site, business unit, and department. Do I need to use a different variable for each group level so that I can reset at the appropriate group header? I simply want to reduce the number of formula if this is possible.

I hope I have explained the problem in enough detail.

Thanks in advance

Please explain where the sub is located and how it is linked to the main report.

If it is located in the inner most group (group #3?) and linked on the three group fields, then you could need to accumulate the results in the main report, using two separate reset formulas for each higher order group header, one accumulation in a group #3b section (below the 3a section containing the sub), and separate display formulas in the group footer sections.

PS.--And yes these would need to be separately named variables.
