I’ve a created a shared variable X in a subreport on record level and placed the variable in the footer, not every record has a value.
In the main report variable X will print the right value if there is a value in the subreport. If there is no value in the subreport, variable X repeat printing the value of the lost known value, while I aspect the vaule 0.
I think I need something like ‘set x=0’ or whileprinting?

You need a reset formula in a section before the one containing the sub. For example, if the sub is in a group section_b, place the reset in group section_a:

whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar x;
if not inrepeatedgroupheader then
x := 0;
