I am using Crystal 10.
I have a income statement report and I have created a subreport to get the annual budget amounts. I have used a shared varible to place it in the main report. However all the data is off by one row. There is a 0.00 where the first amount should be and then the correct numbers follow but as I said off by one row.

Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

TravelerII,

Would it be possible to see the formulas? Might be easier to help solve your problem.

Thanks.

The subreport needs to be placed in a section above the one containing the shared variable reference--so if the main report shared variable formula is in det_b, then the sub needs to be in det_a.

I had the subreport in the section below the shared variable. However when I move it to a section above the shared variable it return the same number for each item in the group.
The report is a trial balance by dimension. I have created a formula to concatenate the account number and the dimension i.e., 4300-ICS. Then I also create a formula to assign each account-dimension a division i.e., Biotech Sales.
I then have group 1 on the division and then group 2 on the
account-dimension.
The subreport is bringing in the annual budget figures by account-dimension through the shared varibale and I have the subreport linked to the main report by account-dimension.
If seeing formulas would help let me know which ones. I just don't understand why it is returning the correct numbers just off one line.
Again thanks for the help.

The subreport MUST be in the section above the formula referencing the shared variable. It sounds like you need to also link the sub on your group #1 field.

Group 1 is the divison and the information is by account-dimension.
account-dimension is what is in group 2 so I am linking it by the account-dimension formula in both the main and sub report. There is no group link availble.

Any other thoughts? This one really has me stumped.

Link on the field you are grouping on for group 1 -- division-- in addition to the account-dimension.

Thanks for the help. I was able to fix the problem by moving both groups into their respective footers.
