shared variable not showing value in main report 1

I created a shared variable in a sub report to store a group total. When I reference that shared variable in the main report, In the first group footer the value is zero. Is it because the subreport is evaluated last? The second group footer has the first group footers value. Please help

The subreport MUST be in a section BEFORE the section using the shared Variable....create a subsection if you have both objects in the same section and put the subreport in the first one.
