I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

I have have SBS 2003 installed on a server with two client machines in the same office accessing it through the network - I recently replaced my Router ... in doing so I have given myself a few problems.

The router change has resulted in a few I.P address changes for the default gateway etc (ie to 192.168.0.1 ... Netgear)

My problems are as follows.

Firstly ... I have a shared printer set up on the server, but the client machines can not view the shared printer on the network at all, they can see the server on the network ok when I go to add a shared printer, but the printer does not appear in the list.... though if I go to add a new printer on the server (just out of curiosity) ... I can see the printer as a shared printer on the server itself. Is there a setting in SBS 2003 that is blocking it from been found on the network by client machines? Any help would be great.

The other problems I am having is remote access from outside of the office, I've been trying to connect ... (I used to be able to no problem) ... but now I can not get access at all ..... any ideas?

Any suggestions or help would be great !!!!

I'd start by reading how to configure your new netgear firewall. You can configure the IP address scheme to be the same as your old network with no need to change IPs.

Make sure port 3389 is open for RDP if that is how you are trying to connect or port 4125 for RWW. You should also open ports 80, 443 and UDP 123.

Ensure Windows Firewall is not turned on or if it is make sure that Printer and File Sharing is checked in the exceptions list. Make sure you have also set to use NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
