What is shared memory.pls give some detailed info on this.
Ur answer is appreciated
 
Normally Unix shareds the code, but keeps the data seperate, if you run multiple copys of the same app, usually this is what you want, one memo is not mixed with another..

Some applications (databases come to mind), you want to share the data as well, not keep several copies of the data in memory at once. Intimate Shared Memory is the key to that. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
