Hi,

I was wondering if there is an easy way to have a shared folder act like a calender. I have a management group that wants to have a calender for them to schedule meetings. They do not like the idea of proxy rights. I have set up a shared folder and have it displayed as a calendar. The
problem is if they post an appointment in the shared folder it shows up in their personal calendars and not in the shared one. Is there any way to have posted appointments showing up in the correct shared calendar so all the management can see?
Thanks

i would use an external entity for this - then if they use multi callander view they will see it side by side to their own callendar. hope that help - i realise from your terminology from above - you are more used to outlook

Terry, would you be so kind as to explain that in a little more detail? If I knew how to do what you're talking about, I have some clients that could benefit.. Thanks.

create an external entity - ie bob the builder account
give people proxy access to this account - put a password on it as no one needs to know it as it's using proxy control.

the people who need to access this open their email
go into callandars - multi person view (looks like two folk having a snog) - then enter bob the builder in address book and then it's added to the callendar view to use as a normally callander for the group. if someone needs more control then they can proxy to full account but most people in this scenario only really need the callendar view - seemingly there was an issue that you could only have 9 callendar open in this way but it's been addressed in sp2 - but you would need a 42 inch plasma monitor to do that anyway.

works well for web access this as well.

hope thats clear but english and clear explanations arent a forte of mine

We also use a department calendar for notes, appointments, and so on. Ours is just a shared folder which contains a calendar view. Click on the folder and the calendar appears in the main right pane of the client window. Each user that shares the folder can add, delete or modifay the calendar. The person that shares the folder initially gives what rights he wants the other participants to have. One click and the calendar is open.

Hi there,

I found an easy way to fix the problem i was having.
I created a shared folder as a calender. Then I created a rule sending all apointments and tasks to the shared folder/calendar.
It works fine for what we need.

Thanks
