I'm sharing a DSL connection at home using a Linksys USB Cable/DSL Router (model BEFSRU31) and connection speeds lessen when everyone is using it... especially when downloading mp3s and videos. Is there any way i can have a setting to control how much each person is using so that it is divided when used simultaneously. Thanks...

I beleive in order to do that, you would need a Firewall, or some kind of device that you can login to. That way, each User or workstation will be tracked, and configured, by either a Username, Machine Name or IP Address.

Once you have that part setup and configured, then its up to the capability of the FireWall's Operating System to deal with ityems like bandwith usage, login times, etc...

Good Luck!

If you've got a USB router, then can I assume it is connected by USB cable to one of the computers and that computer is sharing the internet connection with ICS or a proxy server? If that is the case, there are ways to manage the usage. Since you did not specify the OS, this link
has a number of resources that may be helpful.

If you are not using ICS, post back with the specifics of the setup, the router and the computer OS and we can help further.
