Shared date variable from subreport to be used as parameter in main re

Hi,

I need help creating a shared date variable from subreport to be used as parameter in the main report.
I am not sure if this can be done or not.

The date field only exists in the subreport. I would like to pass the variable to the mail report and use it as a parameter in the main report.

Main report has field username that is linked to the field username in the subreport. The subreport has the date field.

Is this possible?

This is really unclear. If you want to the subreport to return records based on the date by parameter, then create a parameter in the subreport and use it in the record selection formula of the subreport. If you expect this to then limit records in the main report, it won't. If that is the case, you need to make the subreport the main report. Subreports behave like they are left joined to the main report.
