Shared Borders background colors

I am building a page with a shared left border.&nbsp;&nbsp;I would like to make the background for the shared border black throughout the page and use different backgrounds for the main page.&nbsp;&nbsp;Does anyone know of any way to do this?<br><br>Thanks,<br>jwda;

I have been trying this out with FP2000...you can edit the shared border directly in HTML.&nbsp;&nbsp;What I did is open the web folder in windows explorer, and open the _borders folder.&nbsp;&nbsp;There you'll find files (top.htm, bottom.htm) etc. for each of your borders.&nbsp;&nbsp;Open them in your favorite text editor, and you can modify the &lt;body&gt; tag to add your background.&nbsp;&nbsp;I seemed to run into conflicts when I did this with the web open in FP...so I'd suggest trying this with the web closed.&nbsp;&nbsp;When you save the border file and reopen the web, it will take on the characteristics you want.&nbsp;&nbsp;Let me know if anyone knows an easier way.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thanks!
