My clients are requesting making programs available
to sun sparc clients, on the network server, its a netapp . I was wondering the best way to create a network application share. When putting programs like CVS Xemacs or Vim can I just put the bineries on the server. Or do I need to place dependent directories there also. Also is there a way to place dependent patches that xemacs or vim require on the server or do they have to be placed on the local client. I am used to the way Windows works with programs and in most cases network "program" share is out of the question, but I notice Unix is different in this way, I am not as experienced with Unix, not sure how flexible programs are in a network setting, was wondering
if there are any dos and donts, hoping to avoid any unnecessary crashes
any suggestions would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance, Jeff
