I have just set up a windows 2003 server with sharepoint. In order to test the settings I created a website shell and attempted to assign users. In doing this every time I finish the necessary data for the user and try to add them I get an error message stating that the user doesn't exist. I can't seem to get over this problem. What I am asking is there anyone out there who has experienced this problem before? I just installed sharepoint central administration last night so I am sure it is the latest version. If someone could assist me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony
